World's Best Voice Recognition

Voice recognition software works astoundingly well now, no matter how bad it was when you last tested it.

I have been messing with Voice Recognition software since it first came out. It was terrible back then. But things have changed!

The current version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking is quite exceptional. I write about 10,000 words each day in forums, answering emails, writing pages like this, developing email material for clients, and developing books. (My current tour de force is about surviving the coming depression.) That's a lot of words to type!

My manual typing speed is only about 15 words per minute - before errors. Using Voice Recognition I can almost effortlessly get 35 clean words per minute - after editing. It's especially useful where I am creating original material.

I am not going to try and duplicate the software home site's product specs and overview. I would like to focus on a couple of issues that get raised each time I talk about voice recognition software.

Firstly, this latest version needs almost no 'training'. You'll be comfortably functional within 5 minutes of installing.

Nextly, the recognition accuracy is very, very good. The software will never misspell a word. It may mis-recognise a word, which is easy to fix. And the more you fix those recognition errors, the more accurate it becomes.

Dragon is Windows-based. But, I find it works perfectly well in a virtual environment under Apple OS X, which is where I use it most. (That could be either VMWARE [my favourite] or Parallels.)

Lose whatever prejudices you may have about the earlier versions of this genre of product, and consider NaturallySpeaking as a superb enhancer to your productivity. (And, because we tend to speak in a less formal way than we write, you may find that your writing becomes a lot more readable, like mine.)

I have been a member of Pete’s Weekly long before there ever was Business Warriors…  Although I am not very active on the forums, just knowing that the forum is there where I know I can find quick, reliable answers is a bonus to having a good night’s sleep.

Our IT company started in 1992 and is solid, stable and very viable however we have never grown much beyond our 10 staff members and equivalent income.  When Pete & Co started on the marketing drive a year or so ago, I diligently read, absorbed and researched all the topics broached and to this end acknowledged that what we lack is a Marketing person.

With Business Warriors guidance, we have started our own marketing campaign…TSI’s future is looking very good despite the world’s financial woes
